Now is our time

The upcoming municipal elections are an opportunity for us, Kfar Saba residents, to ensure that from this point on, we see our city, Kfar Saba, moving forward. Having volunteered in two municipal positions, during which I led important developments to fruition, I since decided to continue my activities from center stage, so that I can ensure that from this point on, we only move forward. We have experienced years during which the city stagnated, some might even say backpedaled. Now is our chance to change direction. To do so successfully, we have to make a change; a change in leadership. Because, if we keep electing more of the same, we will continue to obtain the same results. It is time for us to move forward – and that is exactly what we will do. We will work together to transform Kfar Saba into a city that is advanced in all fields and activities pertaining to our daily lives. We will advance the city’s education system and all things related to public transportation and connections to and from it. We will move forward towards advanced and appropriate infrastructure. We will advance towards a better quality of life. And most importantly, we will advance towards a more honorable and ethical management of the city. Management that is fully transparent. Management that involves collaboration with residents on municipal decisions.

Join me and those residents who have already decided to take part in this new awakening.

With our creativity, activism and excitement, we will ensure that from this point on, Kfar Saba will only move forward.

Hi, I’m Hadar.

My Name is Hadar Lavi. Wife and mother of two, a resident of Kfar Saba, the city I was raised in.

I have two degrees. A Bachelor’s in Economics and a Master’s in Public Policy, with a specialization in involving the public in city activities. Both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Over the years, I honed a significant career in the IDF’s elite 8200 unit. Upon my release, I was ranked as a Major.

To this day, even after formally being released from the army, I continue to provide guidance and assistance to the unit, serving as a consultant on various complex tasks, as necessary. I contribute my knowledge, skills and experience, those very tools I acquired in the years I spent as a member of the unit.

I have additionally filled two volunteer positions in Kfar Saba; for four years I served as Chairperson of the city’s Women’s Council and I established and headed the City Center Committee.

While volunteering in these positions I was fortunate to spearhead significant developments, together with those indispensable people by my side. Additional information can be found on the website.

I am running for Mayor out of a deep sense that this is my mission in life. I believe in open conversations, in listening to others and in collaboration between residents and the municipality on decisions pertaining to the city. It is important to me that we rebuild trust in the municipal systems. I am certain in this “togetherness.” Certain that together we can make sure Kfar Saba advances.

And this is how I see Kfar Saba advancing

Kfar Saba advancing in terms of management

We will advance towards citywide management according to new-world standards: 100% transparency, open dialogue and collaboration with residents on city activities, fair and more efficient employment of municipal workers, smart use of innovative platforms, encouragement of local initiatives and the establishment of a culture of excellence.

Kfar Saba advancing in terms of education

We will advance towards an open system that encourages parental involvement and real cooperation with education system and city staff members. These modifications to the existing framework will help us renew trust in the local education system. We will advance towards a situation where the physical structures will be fitting of 21st Century educational needs. These do not necessarily require large financial investments. It is more a matter of policy-making. We will advance towards new methods of learning. We will launch various pilots to be able to examine and adopt strategies suited to the 21st Century. We will advance towards schools whose buildings serve the community during the afternoon and evening, creating hubs for various meetings and extracurricular activities. We will advance towards alternative educational frameworks and environments, such as Montessori schools, Democratic schools and other educational systems, which we will examine prior to their implementation.

Kfar Saba is advancing in terms of transportation and infrastructure

We will advance towards solutions that complement the use of public transportation, such as designated bicycle paths for everyday use in residential neighborhoods, as well as in the city’s center. We will create more walking paths and will plant trees alongside them, for a more enjoyable walking experience. Public transportation that will integrate with the complementary solution, such as those that enable many of use to use it more, reducing traffic on the roads. Within the city and at its exits. We will advance towards innovative transportation solutions, thanks to the development of an autonomous vehicle system in the city. A transportation system that will significantly reduce traffic and change our daily lives. We will advance towards public transportation solutions that will serve us on the weekends.

Kfar Saba is advancing in terms of sustainability, quality and cultivation of the environment & cleanliness

We will advance to a situation where there are zero environmental hazards in the city. We will act to rid the city of foul smells and distance factories that emit pollutants. We will advance towards restored and more pleasant public areas, in the fashion of Jerusalem’s Ben Yehuda Street of Weizmann Street. We will go back to enjoying from our outdoor areas and restore them to their former glory. We will advance towards a city abundant in greenery. We will plant trees in roughly 300 vacant areas in the city. We will plant even more trees in the park. We will expand the city’s green areas and be sure to use plants that are not seasonal. That way, we can enjoy them year-round. We will also plant shrubs that do not need regular watering. We will build upon the great and welcome activities already in place and strengthen the city’s sustainability practices.

Kfar Saba is advancing towards a more vibrant community life

We will advance towards community centers that run in new, innovative ways. Centers used for various activities, providing many different solutions for different communities. Centers that meet their users’ goals, such as a home for sports, studies, work, parenting, children, enrichment and leisure. We will advance towards a city supported by its various communities and will aim to respond to each community’s needs, including the LGBTQ community, special families, neighborhood communities and others.

Kfar Saba is advancing in terms of culture

We will advance towards a city that offers a wide variety of recreational activities for different age groups. We will strengthen our cultural integration regarding young families. We will advance to a situation that enables many regular and equal recreational options throughout the city, even on Shabbat, such as children’s theater, activity centers and other cultural hotspots. We will do this by supporting and incentivizing existing and future establishments.

Kfar Saba is advancing in terms of municipal restoration

We will advance towards a renewed, revived city that continues to maintain its unique character. We will ensure that new buildings constructed in the city’s center will be no higher than nine stories, so that we can expand the city’s population in a controlled manner. We will ensure smart construction based on the restoration of older areas, included the laying of appropriate infrastructure. We will act to ensure that there will be a mix of residential options.

Kfar Saba is advancing in terms of fitness

We will advance to accessible sports and exercise opportunities, to encourage a healthy lifestyle. For example, by renting out sports equipment, equally spreading out sports and fitness services throughout the city, and more. we will also move towards the management of the city’s fitness activities by a municipal company.

Kfar Saba is advancing towards innovative employment areas

We will advance to become a city that encourages clean occupational buildings. These structures will enable the city to grow its employment opportunities, provide the city with additional revenues from collected municipal taxes (arnona), will enable residents to work closer to home and avoid traffic and wasted time. We will invite leading companies to set up offices in Kfar Saba, contributing to the city through their operations.
